SICK ATV ADVENTURE ON MOTORCYCLEUSA.COM

“I suppose quad riding itself is an adventure, but step that up a notch, as in venturing freely through Mexico’s Copper Canyon on an ATV! I’m in!”

There are not many things in this world that compliment each other as well as peanut butter and chocolate, I’d take Reece’s peanut butter cups over anyone’s homemade deserts! There are two other things in my opinion that when mated together equal an incredible experience to such a degree and that’s both quad riding and adventure! I suppose quad riding itself is an adventure, but step that up a notch, as in venturing freely through Mexico’s Copper Canyon on an ATV! I’m in!

STI ROCTANE XDs AND BIG COUNTRY HUNT DOWN BIG BUCK GNCC WIN

“The weapon used was a Polaris RZR, locked and loaded by Big Country Powersports.”

Hunting season opened early this year in Union, South Carolina. In only the second UTV event on the 2013 Grand National Cross Country schedule, STI Roctane XD tires bagged a Big Buck. It was brought down by John Yokley and co-driver Ellen Yokley. The weapon used was a Polaris RZR, locked and loaded by Big Country Powersports.

This Big Buck did not surrender easily. The Big Country entry was accidentally spun out by another competitor in the first turn in the early moments of this hour-long race, leaving it in last place heading into the woods for the first time. Big Country was persistent in its pursuit, however, and stalked its first-place prey lap after lap, never losing track with its 26x9R-14 STI Roctane XDs.

“By the end of the pursuit, the Yokleys had caught and dropped a herd of 20 XC1 Modified…”

By the end of the pursuit, the Yokleys had caught and dropped a herd of 20 XC1 Modified cars to not only put a bullseye in the target but pull away by over two minutes at the checkered flag. Big Country snared first overall out of 48 side-by-sides — a big game trophy in anyone’s book.

The team is now tied for second place in the XC1 Modified point standings and setting its sights on the next UTV GNCC event in Millfield, Ohio, the first weekend of June. Four rounds remain for UTVs.

MAVERICK 1000R SXS MAKES ITS GNCC SERIES DEBUT

Valcourt, Québec, March 19, 2013 – Can-Am® 4×4 ATV racers swept all five 4×4 classes and placed two riders on the overall morning podium at round two of the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series in Washington, Ga. In the first round of side-by-side vehicle racing in Georgia, a total of 11 Can-Am Maverick™1000R racers competed with four Can-Am vehicles earning a podium finish in each of the four GNCC “UTV” classes.

“This was a good debut for the Maverick and we fully expect to improve our results at round two in late April.”

“Having Can-Am ATV racers dominate their morning 4×4 classes and to see Kevin Trantham and Robert Smith on the morning podium was great. It was a good weekend in Georgia overall, as we had numerous podiums, including two for the new Can-Am Maverick 1000R in its GNCC side-by-side racing debut,” said Jimmie O’Dell, Race Manager, Can-Am. “It was a close finish for Kyle Chaney and his Maverick 1000R X® rs in its first GNCC side-by-side event, as he narrowly missed taking the overall race win. This was a good debut for the Maverick and we fully expect to improve our results at round two in late April.”

“I got a good start and my Can-Am Outlander worked awesome,” said Trantham.”

Trantham, the reigning 4×4 Lites class champion, took the holeshot and raced away to a victory aboard his new 2013 Can-Am Outlander 500. He won the class by more than seven minutes, earned the top spot on the 4×4 podium and also earned second on the overall morning podium.
